Romans 8:15

Romans 8:15 (New International Version)
"For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.  And by him we cry, 'Abba, Father.'"

In our adoption , we are chosen by God and brought in, given full access to the Father.  The forgiveness though Christ is the doorway to adoption, and forgiveness marks our authenticity as children of God.
